The 11th Annual AWT Concert featured a break with the past and introduced several new artists and found the youngest of past years had be come the seasoned performers of 2007.
A lot of new gear was used but several verterans were brought in to make sure everything went well, including pro-sound engineer Al McAvoy. GRTV used the new installed camera system to produce a video from the performance (available at the Artist sales table this year!).
Several performances are available from Octoberday.com including Annie Capps’ “I Love Christmas,” Josh Schicker’s modern traditional version of “I Saw Three Ships,” Karisa Wilson’s “Great Big Present For Christmas,” a marvelous retelling of “The Little Match Girl” in an original song by Sara Luneack and Dorothy Cooley “Too Late, It’s Winter.” (Dorothy was a particularly wonderful surprise – she came to the show as substitiue for another artist unable to perform. Dorothy then battled through an ice storm to make showtime. She, like Sara Luneack, will return for AWT 2008.)
Award winning songwriter Rachel Davis opened the second half of the show while new son Virgil looked on. The evening closed with encore performance of Ralston Bowles’s song “Little Miracles” featuring the assembled Artists and Audience.
A DVD will be available at the AWT2008 Artist sales table, profits are split amongst GRTV & Wealthy Theater.
